SUGARBUZZ (LiveFastDie - "Bandana Thrash Record" LP/CD, Dead Beat)
“Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse –John Derek

Loud G.G Allin rock and roll played through a cheap 1973 handheld transistor radio. Take some snot from Stivs nose and some diarrhea from G.G ass, up the dose with the Mentors and a little Tesco Vee sarcasm; and you have procreated some primitive, primal unformulated, pure unadulterated scum fuck rawk and roll. Like two exploding mammary glands drenching, bathing in the sound of flatulence. Live Fast Die probably will.

Remember being a wee lad and your first thoughts when your ears feasted on the Dwarves? They were dangerous, full of jizz and vinegar, and ready to wipe it in your open cigarette burns. Sinners if that is your church then you will bow at the altar of Live Fast Die. Jesus Saves. Live Fast Die doesn’t.

Fuck earplugs. Music to blare at a Retirement home Christmas dinner.

BMO'S WORLD (LiveFastDie - "Bandana Thrash Record" LP/CD, Dead Beat)
It can be kind of embarrassing to find yourself singing the lyrics to “Snuff Movie”, for example, while staring at the vending machine trying to decide which chocolate bar is most likely to satisfy. I mean, your co-workers might not understand the humor of lines like “She got her head cut off / while I was jerking off / it was really hot / hot dead fucking cunt”. But let’s face it, there aren’t many taboos left, and it’s always been one of the functions of rock’n’roll to challenge society’s norms and taboos. Not that I think the boys in Live Fast Die are suggesting that snuff films should be more socially acceptable. I think it’s more that they’re trying to shock us a little, remind us that we’re still alive, still capable of emotions like disgust and shame and fear. Because sometimes that’s the only way to get through to us, we’re so numbed by the nightly news and the internet and stupid reality T.V. shows and movies with 17 sequels, none of which is any different from the first 16. We need a bit of electric current applied directly to the base of the brain to jump start us again, get us off the treadmill and back into the real world. That’s what this record will do for you.

I know, you’re saying, “But, bmo, what does ‘Bandana Thrash Record’ sound like?” It sounds very much like the title implies. In a way, it sounds like your typical lo-fi trashy garage band, only better. It’s fast, it’s simple, and it’s aggressive. All of which works perfectly with the abrasive, offensive lyrics. Need a kick in the ass? Get this CD.
