NEUROTIC SWINGERS-

'French Fries, Guillotine and Love'

CD

Marseille, Frances punk rock quartet the NEUROTIC SWINGERS are currenlty at the peak of their career. One of Frances few bands to rise from the garage and make an impact outside of their small local punk rock community. It all started in 2001at the Knitting Factory club in Marseille, the NEUROTIC SWINGERS slowly took shape out of the ashes of various French punk rock outfits to form a band that melds each members musical and stylistic affinity for great bands like the Clash, Damned, Boys, Ramones, Saints, Thunders and Dead Boys. Not just another throwback band maching poses, and coppin' riffs. No, the NEUROTIC SWINGERS wanted to use their influences to create their own NEUROTIC sound. Well after some practicin' and giggin': Raph : Vocals & bass (ex- Dollybird) / Pachuco : guitar (ex- Gasolheads) / Steph : guitar & b.vocals (Lollipop Records honcho) & Matt : drums (ex- Sugarfix) quickly hit the studio and tracked their debut... a split 7" with the Japanese guitar slingin' heroes Dogmatic Salamander for Myrmecoleo Records in Japan. The 7" sold out quickly, and a few months later the NEUROTIC SWINGERS were back in the studio trackin some of their newest material. Recording a combination of local crowd faves, and a few fresh cuts for their debut Mini album, the NEUROTIC SWINGERS couldn't be stopped!! The 'What's Your Definition Of Underground' 10"/CD was released in Europe on Lollipop Records and in Japan on Myrmecoleo Records marking the band as a group with staying power. With rabid touring, and some extremely favorable press from mags like MRR, 3rd Generation Nation and Now Wave this EP quickly went OUT OF PRINT!! With the SWINGERS never look back and never say die credo, the SWINGERS forged ahead and began writing some of their strongest material to date. Hooks, structure, swagger and flare, these new tunes were burstin' with energy!! In March of 2003 the NEUROTIC SWINGERS went in and recorded their debut masterpiece 'Art Rats' released on LP (Demolition Derby) and CD (Lollipop). Upon the albums release, the phenomenal feedback continued:

'Ten absolute gems paying homage to the '76 - '77 punk years: masterpiece!' (Punkrawk, FRANCE)

'The NEUROTIC SWINGERS are impressive, they know how to write a hook. They sound like the HIVES hanging out with the BRIEFS flipping through old issues of Cream and Sniffin' Glue. - (Maximum Rock N Roll, USA)

'The latest from the Neurotic Swingers is tearing up my stereo and reaffirming my belief in this thing called rock n' roll. '- (Now Wave, USA)

'So many bands attempt this style and fail miserably. Song writing, musicianship and attitude....these guys have the complete package and more'- (Fracture Fanzine, UK)

'Great and catchy shit that sticks in your craw and gets your head bobbin' HARD'- (Horizontal Action, USA)

Across the board, the press was insurmountably favorable, and the SWINGERS were just doin' what they set out to do...writing boozed up, drugged out tunes about life and their fans/critics seemed to relate to their poppy hooks and introspective lyrics.

Well with Dead Beat Records actively following the bands musical path from the demise of the Gasolheads, into hearing the SWINGERS first recordings and subsequent releases, Dead Beat's release of 'French Fries, Guillotine and Love' aims to build underground global recognition of this band through it's extensive distribution network. This 13 track CD contains select, hand picked tracks from the long OUT OF PRINT 'What's Your Definition of Underground Ep, 'Art Rats' LP/CD and also includes 4 BRAND NEW, UNRELEASED and EXCLUSIVE TRAX. On top of that we threw in a really cool video for 'I'm Just Losing My Soul' marking the first enhanced CD on Dead Beat. This great disc also contains an incredibly eye popping cover design by Olivier from the Gasolheads/Hate Pinks.

The NEUROTIC SWINGERS are about to embark on the biggest journey of their lavish, extensive career. They have played all over Europe with likes of Radio Birdman, the Briefs, Jerry Spider Gang, Shakin Nasties, Dean Dirg, Rickshaw etc. and on September 27th, the NEUROTIC SWINGERS will come state-side and tour the US/Canada from Sept. 28th- Oct. 18th 2004. This is the next natural step for the NEUROTIC SWINGERS aiming to build popularity for the band in the States and support the release of their American debut.

For past SWINGERS fans this 13 track disc is a great place to get re-acquitted with your heroes. For future SWINGERS fans its a great place to start. Cliches intact in their albums title, the NEUROTIC SWINGERS- French Fries, Guillotine and Love is another solid chapter in Frances growing punk rock history!!!
