Well after their aptly titled debut full length ‘Rockin’ Sound’ was release on Radio Blast Records, Dead Beat Records had already taken ‘Shakin At The Party!’ into production. With the track listing that I hand picked amongst ALL the material the REELERS had recorded at the time, and prior to a commitment with Radio Blast Record; I knew the response for ‘Shakin At The Party!’ would be favorable. The RADiO REELERS closed out 2004 with a bang. They went to Europe with their fellow WI rock n roll comrades, the LEG HOUNDS, on the ‘Last Of The Leather Apes’ tour. The REELERS have always dominated live. They are completely amped n energetic and just seem to literally bounce off the stage. Hell Jeff and Adam can barely stand still!! For a month they hit nearly every major punk/rock n roll club in Belguim, France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands spreadin’ their good time Rock N Roll party credo! They’d been writing and perfecting these tunes live for almost a year before they went into Grizzly Studios to record ‘The Next Best Thing.’ in April 2005. This is some of the REELERS strongest material to date. You get more of their signature amped up Chuck Berry riffin, slosh n roll rockers like ‘Devil On My Shoulder’, ‘Silver Ball’and Euro tour influenced ‘Rockin Van’. The RADiO REELERS also throw a nod back to Jeffs old band, THE FELLS, where they delve into mid tempo Real Kids, Teenage Head territory in songs like ‘Criminal Mind, and ‘You’re My Habit’. As a little bonus for the CD buyers, there's an extra video for ‘Last of the Leather Apes’ that contains some cool footage of the REELERS at their best....fucked up and rockin’ across Europe.
